This 4th was a little different than our normal holiday routine, which ended up being a good thing....because it poured rain the WHOLE DAY!! For the past 3 or 4 years we've spent the 4th of July at the Gilbert, SC Peach Festival, because usually my husband, who is a firefighter, has to work at it. And every single year it has been hot, dry, and beautiful weather!! We also usually end up going out on the lake with our friends, The Frenchs, for the big fireworks show on Lake Murray. But this year, I'm glad we didn't....because the weather was so gross! The Parkers backyard was practically flooded! But even with the inclement weather, we had a great time with The Parkers and their sweet little girl, Nora Grace.... AND we had great food and lots of fun at their 4th of July party!
We were especially grateful to be spending the holiday with so many service members, as several of the couples at the party were or currently are serving in the military. How blessed we are to have such brave individuals fighting for our country so we can live in the land of the FREE!
Now I have to say... one of the highlights of this trip was getting to hang out with this little lady..... Miss Nora Grace Parker! :) My husband was a little smitten with her as well, to say the least.
Here I am with my beautiful friends Angela and Molly, with my sweet husband, Tony, and all the delicious 4th of July food spread! |
We ended a great day with watching a fireworks display (which The Parkers had a great view of from their front yard) and the boys playing with their toys!! haha. They had a little too much fun with their sparklers!!
So grateful for wonderful friends and a fabulous country to live in!! Happy 4th!
